May Your Light Shines My Way

May Your Light Shines My Way

Dear God,
Are You in the midst of me,
Listening to my every need.
Or have You forsaken me,
And left me to my adversary.

Have You watched and see,
That I need You every second.
Are You watching over me,
When I’ve thought of an end.

Do You still remember me,
A child that needs You when down.
Have You thought of who I’ll be,
Perhaps a singer without a sound.

God, can You help me to feel.
Your presence in me seems lost.
My selfish thoughts I can not deal.
I need You Lord, it’s a must.

Darkness seems to overtaken me.
For I can’t break this thick shell.
You promised You’ll be with me.
Through my happiness and trial.

Can You help me to outgrow,
From childish thoughts I have.
Will You help me escaped my ego,
For it has engulfed me like a wave.

I believe You are near Lord
But my faith often is shaken.
I felt Your awesome presence Lord,
Molding me with that pierced hand.

Please take this sinful heart.
I want to be with You on that day.
Shape and purified this heart.
May Your light shines my way.
